Age of consent: Why is teenage sex with consent illegal in India?

Imahe
Indian sex passed a strict new law ten years ago to address cases of child sexual assault. Yet, because the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act makes any sexual behavior by a kid under the age of 18 a crime, many adolescent boys in consenting relationships find themselves in legal trouble. The "age of consent" is currently the subject of renewed debate, and there are increasing proposals to decriminalize underage sexual activity. I was taken to visit a 16-year-old who had supposedly been raped several years earlier while working on a report about police sending female beat constables to a Delhi neighborhood with a high crime rate to increase women's safety. The policewoman described her to us as a rape victim. The girl denied being raped when I pressed her for her story, though. She replied, "Main apni marzi se gayee thi (I went with him freely)". The policewoman motioned for me to go as her mother started yelling at her. She added that the ...

The Indian girl's manual for recreational sex

I was wondering if you'd ever consider having Indian sex. and despite the fact that I know you wouldn't be my boyfriend given that you and I are both individuals. This is the first of many troubling sequences where kids discuss recreational sex in an almost carefree manner in an episode of Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher's Netflix series Never Have I Ever. I never discussed "birds and bees" with anyone when I was growing up. I still struggle to identify the exact moment or circumstance when or how this idea entered my impressionable mind that sex was sacrosanct. an an an an an an a tab of the a When I l...

This blog post is intended for girls who have tended to be more restrained about their sexuality and who plan to explore it further in college, or who at the very least want to be aware of appropriate methods to handle that element of themselves. I want to give a little overview of my relationship with this topic before I start. Due to the social stigma that sex carries, it was never discussed while I was reared in a very conventional and strict Catholic environment. When I started becoming active in college without my complete consent, this turned out to be pretty harmful to me. I was unable to handle the circumstance, which has caused me harm that I am currently working to recover from. I was extremely clueless about sex since I watched Indian sexporn and had no interest in it for my ti...
